Tim LaSalle, CEO
Rodale Institute

We are excited to have Tim LaSalle, recently named the new CEO of Rodale Institute, as a keynote speaker at this year's conference.

LaSalle has dedicated much of his career to educating people about organic health and global environmental solutions.  For 12 years he was a full professor at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), where he taught dairy science classes. He also served as the president and CEO of California’s Agriculture Education Foundation. More recently, the new Institute leader served in an executive capacity with various nonprofit organizations, including the Environmental Center of San Luis Obispo County and the Allan Savory Center for Holistic Management.

“We aim for The Rodale Institute to be at the forefront of scientific research on organic farming and its effects on human and environmental health, and through those efforts to build a diverse and thriving community more passionate about organic,”

Mark Kastel
of the
Cornucopia Institute

Mark Kastel’s dynamic speaking style, combined with the Cornucopia Institute’s reputation as an “organics watchdog”, make him perhaps the most provocative speaker in the country on issues related to agriculture, organics, and small farms.

An important part of Cornucopia’s work is building bridges between the farming community and consumers.  Mark’s well-received speeches have reached new audiences around the country. Over the past two years, he has spoken at various prominent farm conferences including the Acres, USA’s annual conference, Northeast Organic Farming Association NY, the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association, Texas Organic Farming and Gardening Association, Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture, and the Provender Alliance, among many others.  His speaking style is animated and persuasive, and he typically spends a generous portion of his allotted time engaging the audience in a “town hall style” format.
